Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when you use NotchOwl, visit this website, purchase a license, or contact support.

1. Your planner stays on your Mac

NotchOwl stores tasks, notes, focus sessions, and planner preferences locally on your Mac. The app provides JSON export so you can save a copy of your data. The native app does not use analytics.

2. Optional Calendar and notification access

You can choose to connect calendars already added to Apple Calendar. macOS describes the requested permission as Full Access. NotchOwl uses it to read and display events; it does not create, edit, or delete Calendar events. You can revoke access in macOS System Settings.

When you first set a task reminder, NotchOwl requests notification permission. Reminders are scheduled through macOS, which controls their display and delivery. You can manage notifications in System Settings.

3. Purchases and license activation

Dodo Payments processes purchases and license activation. Purchase details, including your checkout email, are used to deliver your key, manage activations, and handle refunds. The website and app do not store your payment-card details.

Your license key and activation instance are stored in this Mac’s Keychain. Activation and verification contact Dodo Payments. License keys are not included in planner exports.

4. Updates and downloads

GitHub hosts the linked Mac installer and update feed. Downloading NotchOwl or checking for updates connects to that host. The app supports update checks through Sparkle; you can manage automatic checks in Settings.

5. Website performance

This website uses Vercel Speed Insights to measure page performance. These website measurements are separate from the planner data stored in the Mac app.

6. Support and refunds

When you email support, we receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to provide. We use these details to respond, locate your order, help with activation, or process a refund request.

7. Questions and requests

For privacy questions or requests about purchase and support information, email adityaships66@gmail.com. Include the email address associated with your request. Some transaction records may need to be retained to meet legal requirements.
